about me

amanda

Hi, I like fashion and clothes and pretty things. I also love yummy food and delicious beer, so get excited to see a lot of random goodies come your way. This is a fashion blog with food.. and beer.. as just stated above but its not your normal fashion and foodie blog, its about keeping at real 24/7, like my bank statement. So can I really afford $1,200 Christian Loubouton heels? no, but a girl can drool dream. I often ask myself questions like am I fashionable? am I trendy? and why do I still have UGG boots? I ponder these questions only to find that my answer reverts back to the fact that I wear what I like (UGG boots aside). Fashion is what you make of it. Aside from the fact that I used to work at J.crew and the store itself has turned into my own personal closet, I wear what makes me feel good about myself. I know whats "trendy" at the moment and the fads (ahem, ombre hair) that are going to have their 15 minutes and burn out. I don't believe in wearing sweatpants, pajama pants, or yoga pants outside of the four walls of your house, so if that's something you believe in I just might offend you once or twice. Sometimes you just have to suck it up (or in) and put on those jeans, and I'm not saying pajama jeans are now an option, but real jeans.

Rutgers University will have my happiness and $$ until May 2014 when I graduate, but I have never let it drag me down to the point where I'm sitting in my desk in my hanes scrunchy ankle sweats. I live in the depths of New Brunswick with my two roommates who are helping me accept the fact that people do in fact wear hanes sweat pants, not only to bed but around campus and in public. I'm not one to follow really high fashion trends and worship high end designers. I'm 22 years old and my focus is on what I can afford and how I can interpret those trends into my everyday wardrobe and budget. I love colors, prints, fabrics and everything that goes into making an outfit interesting and unique. I have a lot of different interests that may pop up here from time to time. There are so many awesome places in the area and I love the fact that I can enjoy a phenomenal meal accompanied by a great beer right around the corner. There are great little cafes and hidden restaurants here and there : it would be a shame not to share them. I think its safe to say we all have those days where we don't want to dress nice, we want to lay in our sweats, with our cats, and watch the LOTR trilogy back to back. So lets leave that for Sunday. Just me? that's fine. But it's important to make the other days count.
